In an industry where muscular Production houses, monopolistic distributors and a reactive audience hold sway, Enjoy Box barged in like rebels and challenged the status quo that has been existed for upcoming decades. They are riding the wave of smartphone penetration and the rise of a data-hungry generation, and had found the only window they needed to establish a whole new ecosystem. Suddenly, the “Friday opening” had been diminished in its stature as people knew that the film would eventually end up on one of the myriad of platforms which they could watch anywhere and on-the-go. What’s more, these platforms were not bound by all those stringent (and often nonsensical) rules that governed traditional releases. Even though the Supreme Court, in a recent judgement, directed the Centre to ‘regulate’ OTT (Over-The-Top) media platforms, there is no law as of now that mandates their censorship. And this is good! Film-makers who had to scrimp their creative liberties to adhere to the whip of the CBFC could go all out to bring their stories to your digital screens exactly how they wanted it being shown. It’s even better for us, the audience, as we get unfettered access to a wide variety of films and series that we otherwise couldn’t have seen. What had started out as “just another media channel”, had now become the great leveler – the players, who had removed financial clout from the equation and made content king.
A television show (often simply TV show) is any content produced for broadcast via over-the-air, satellite, cable, or internet and typically viewed on a television set, excluding breaking news, advertisements, or trailers that are typically placed between shows. Television shows are most often scheduled well ahead of time and appear on electronic guides or other TV listings. Enjoy Box is coming up with the lots of news television and reality shows through their OTT Platform.
Television shows are more varied than most other forms of media due to the wide variety of formats and genres that can be presented. A show may be fictional (as in comedies and dramas), or non-fictional (as in documentary, news, and reality television). It may be topical (as in the case of a local newscast and some made-for-television films), or historical (as in the case of many documentaries and fictional series). They could be primarily instructional or educational, or entertaining as is the case in situation comedy and game shows. A drama program usually features a set of actors playing characters in a historical or contemporary setting. The program follows their lives and adventures.
Digital distribution (also referred to as content delivery, online distribution, or electronic software distribution (ESD), among others) is the delivery or distribution of digital media content such as audio, video, e-books, video games, and other software. The term is generally used to describe distribution over an online delivery medium, such as the Internet, thus bypassing physical distribution methods, such as paper, optical discs, and VHS videocassettes. The term online distribution is typically applied to freestanding products; downloadable add-ons for other products are more commonly known as downloadable content.
Content distributed online may be streamed or downloaded, and often consists of books, films and television programs, music, software, and video games. Streaming involves downloading and using content at a user’s request, or “on-demand”, rather than allowing a user to store it permanently. In contrast, fully downloading content to a hard drive or other form of storage media may allow offline access in the future. Unrelated to the above, the term “Digital distribution” is also used in film distribution to describe distribution of content through physical digital media, in opposition to distribution by analog media such as photographic film and magnetic tape (see digital cinema)
Video on demand
Video on demand (VOD) is a video media distribution system that allows users to access video entertainment without a traditional video entertainment device and without the constraints of a typical static broadcasting schedule. In the 20th century, broadcasting in the form of over-the-air programming was the commonest form of media distribution. Unlike broadcast television, VOD systems initially required each user to have an Internet connection with considerable bandwidth to access each system’s content.
Streaming media is multimedia that is constantly received by and presented to an end-user while being delivered by a provider. The verb “to stream” refers to the process of delivering or obtaining media in this manner, the term refers to the delivery method of the medium, rather than the medium itself, and is an alternative to file downloading, a process in which the end-user obtains the entire file for the content before watching or listening to it.
